Great looking, great quality wheels aren't hard to come by, but when you add in price does the picture change?
A favor if you would when answering, please qualify your opinion below the Top 10 list. This will help keep the info unclutered and concise. Also remember, a "I bought xxxx wheels and they're great" response doesn't reveal very much other than you're happy with your purchase (and of course you should be).
Since looks are very subjective please include the wheel name, size, weight, manufacturing type, best price found and where found.
If you don't know, don't guess. (I've heard 4 different weights for the 18x8" Volk CE28Ns... I still wonder what the real number is!) If you're missing some info please use ???? and perhaps someone else can supply the missing info.
Example: SSR Competition - 18x7.5" - 15.4# - forged - $459 - Tire Rack

I can't name off 10 wheels, but I bought Nismo LMGT4's in 18" for several reasons:
1. looks (as you stated, subjective)
2. weight savings
3. forged monoblock (for strength)
4. made by Rays Engineering which is a quality brand
5. relatively inexpensive compared to other wheels by the same manufacturer (got mine for $1800 shipped from PerformanceNissanParts). You can usually find them on Ebay for less if you want to risk it.

Never enough
For forged I would say symbolic wheels. Great price and they are top notch! My buddy owns ilovewheels.com and I see a TON of wheels!

What's the point? Everybody's value for their money is just as individual as the look of the wheel itself.Originally Posted by DaveO

This is the dumbest thread I've seen from a sponsor. Is this the market research tool you use for your magazine?
xswl0931,
Thanks fo your feedback. Please provide a picture if possible.
Chico,
I started this thread because I am interested in gathering this info for my personal use. Sport Z has nothing to do with its conception or the results.
To me an 18x8" $1,050 forged wheel that weighs 26# may be better or not as good a value as a $500 forged wheel that weighs 16#. The difference may be quality of constuction, looks, exclusiveness or ????
I'm truely sorry this thread doesn't meet with your approval.

Here's one pic of the wheel itself and another on my car. Another nice thing about the LMGT4 is that they are correctly sized to not affect VDC and the OEM TPS sensors fit right on.

Since nobody else will, I'll do it. In my opinion, value comes from getting the best. They will last longer and you won't want to change them as often as cheaper wheels. Lightness does make a difference, too. My top 10, though not in order of preference:
1 HRE
2 Avus
3 JLine
4 CCW
5 Symbolic
6 Makaveli
7 Asanti
8 Maya
9 Lowenhart
10 Work
Can't stop...
11 Axis
12 GFG
13 Racinghart
14 Boyd Coddington
15 Momo
16 Any of the Mackin Industries brands (Volks, Rays, Lexion, GGames)
I just re-read your thread. You want more info. That's part of the fun. You do your own research. The prices of the wheels I list goes from around 1600 to 6000. for size 19. I prefer 19 because it's a little easier to toss the car around than 20's. Also you can really go wide with the 19's and they're a little lighter in weight.
