Is there any reason not to get 4 identical tires on 17 rims for a 6MT 03 coupe? I know the OEM specs are for a 18 rim with slightly larger backs than fronts.

Traction controll & ABS problems if you don't keep the front to rear ratio the same. The stock sizes differ fr to rear.

I use 4 equally sized tires for auto-x. When I first got them installed and pulled out of the tire shop with them on, the SLIP light came on. I turned off VDC and I have not had that problem since. Plus, I can't break them loose because they stick like crazy

Just turn off VDC. I have not noticed any ABS problems yet. What are you going to use the 17" rims for?
