Advice on new rears

Hey guys,

I am currently riding on a set of bald pilots. I have plenty of meat left on my 225/45 pilots up front, so I am just going to replace my rears. I have 20's for weekend and shows but this car is also my daily driver. What is the better size for my stock 18's on my coupe. 255/45 or 255/40. My tire guy is running a closeout on all 255's thats the reason for choosing that size over the 245's. So my question is... What is the difference between the 255/40 and the 255/45 sizes? Will either throw off the speedo or vdc? and what tire is closest to stock 245/45 size? Thanks guys!!!!
