Suspension Set Up
Hey guys, I know everyone here is just about sick of suspension info and rereading some stuff they have already heard and talked about. Ive been researching the forum and other sources for a while now but the info is so damn scattered that I still have not come to conclusions exactly of what I want. I considered the following options...but before that, here is what I am looking for in a supsension set up. I want a slight drop something that will give it a clean drop but not slammed. A drop that will give me near stock ride comfort that I can reach stock camber speacs with. If I ahve to get camber I hope its just for the rear and not the front. My plan is prob to keep the drop less than a 1in. I dont want the car to be bouncy either but more of a solid planted feel, kinda like stock. Basically I want to accomplish looks to close the fender gap, increased in handling without sacrificing ride quality since I a will be a daily driver. I have the 2005 coupe on 19s too. I plan to keep the wheels stock for sometime. Anyways...sorry for the long talk but these are the set up Im considering. Id like the car to balance well if possible.
O I forgot to mention, coilovers are not an option, Im not a hardcore street or track racer or anything so id be a waste for me, so I wont be racing or any of that. Only fun on the streets for me.
Tien H-Tech (350z) w/ Tokico D Specs...not sure if this is a good set up with the spring rates
RS-R (350z) w/ Tokico D Specs...do the RSR for the G35 have a different spring rate and drop than the RSRs (350z)? The RS-R (350z) drops the car about 1in right?
Well these are the two Ive considered, I am not sure whats the best shock set up with these springs but I hope they are a good pic. I like the H-techs for the G35 but it just doesnt lower enough or so it seems. Please let me know what you guys think and ur experiences, thanks.
p.s. - i think ill prob get a camber kit/toe for the car because I dont want premature tire wear but thats only for the rear most of the time right with this set up?
sorry for so many questions.

i'm running 350z rsrs w/ tokicos and couldn't be happier. And yes, the spring rates are different for the g35 rsrs which is why i opted for the 350z rsrs (the 350z rsrs are slightly stiffer if i remember correctly). After the springs settled I had about a 1.25in drop and I was able to get the rear camber within reasonable limits (-1.9) using the stock adjustments. I have about -1.8 camber on the fronts and they seem to be wearing evenly. Here are some pics of my car. *this was right after the install and the springs settled down another 1/4in.
o nice drop man. is the drop for the RSR for the G35 coupe less than the rsr 350z? 1.25 is too much of a drop for me though. id like to be no more than a 1in drop. im still researching stuff. I know the Tien H-Techs for the 350z drop the car .8F and like .6R or so. How about the RSR for the G35 coupe? I still don't know what suspension is best to pair with. I dont want to be scrapping over speed bumps which is why I want to keep it no more than a 1in drop.
do any of you guys rub with the RSR for the 350z on the G coupes? Especially with aftermarket wheels. Sounds like the RSR drops the car a lot and the car is pretty low as it is and Im worried that I would have to get camber for F and R. I dont mind getting the rear w/toe but fronts are too expensive and I dont want to spend money on that. RSR seems to be well balances after compairing it to the stock spring rates. However the Tien H-Techs for the 350z seem to have the exact drop I am looking for but how is the ride, i know the H-Techs for the G are softer than stock so I will avoid that but the H-techs for the 350z I have heard nothing but good stuff about this. I just want to get something I will like that wont mess up handling or tires. If I get H-Tech (350z) w/Tokico D-specs Ill prob get camber kit for the rear and ill do it all at once and then get an alignment. As for now, what do you guys think about my set up I am high considering. RSRs sound so awesome but the drop is just too much for me.

I have the Tein 350Z H-Techs and the drop is just right/subtle. The ride is a little firmer than stock, but I don't have the Tokicos. After an alignment, the tires are wearing evenly. I'm very pleased with the results. I plan to get the Tokico in the future.

I have the 350Z RSRs with Tokico DSpecs for the G35C. I've had this setup for about a year now and just replaced my tires due to premature wear (and aggressive driving). I just got brand new EXPENSIVE MIchelin PS2s and so I'm going to get an alignment this week and see what I need to do to correct camber/toe. I'll post the alignment results.
The handling is great! Ride is a lil bit rougher than stock but nothing noticeable by anyone other than the driver. I have 19" rims too. My car is neutral now with my tire setup, shocks, and springs. I don't plan on getting sway bars because I'm not really needing a reduction in body roll.

sweet. yah exactly what I was thinking...Tein H-Techs (350z) w/ tokico D-spec shocks. O and a rear camber/toe. I dont need camber for the front with this set up do I? From what Ive been reading it doesnt sound like anyone gets cambers for the front with this set up.
you can get away without a camber kit on the front. It's not mandatory....
Rears are a must though.
Go with the RSR/D-spec combo. You'll love the handling and ride characteristics of it. The H-tech's are too mild (soft) imo...
