What is the best choice for coil-over under $ 2000?

I currently have Tein basis, but thinking about something with damper

 

I would suggest the HKS Hypermax RS.

 

hands down--tein flex kit with an edfc allows you to change dampening at the touch of a button while driving your car

 

+1. The jic flta-2 is also worth a look if you don't mind a stiffer coilover system

 

TEIN FLEX or CS with EDFC would be my choices

 

I made the choice to go Tien CS" with EDFC. I have no comments about the others out there. IM very pleased with the ride I have now. Its firm but not harsh, My settings on the soft side is still better than stock, way better. They sure make the car track the road with a good feel. I would consider replacing the sway bars.

 

You have to also add in the cost of front and rear camber kits right?!?!

 

In detail, what about the Basics has you thinking you want to now spend another $2000? Where to you stand on comfort, ride height and performance?

 

I dont care much about comfort. I am more on the performance side. I dont like it too low, just because of running something over.

meanwhile, if i really going to change the basis with something else, it better be worth it.

The basics is great; but it lacks the EDFC for one. Second, it is not adjustment for dampen setting. It is still very stiff, but compare with my buddy's 350Z with just S-tech on it. The 350z is still stiffer.

 

Now I eventually want to upgrade the suspension, BUT this is my daily driver and I need the stock ride height, I know that some coilovers really aren't meant to be installed and used at a stock height....I would love to run the tein CS more control without much sacrifice to comfort....

also my driveway is another reason its a monster....

 

As for the TEINs, no brainer that CS is softer than FLEX.
EDFC is a great option. Goes with both the CS and FLEX.
Push a button and adjust your stiffness. YEAYUH!
Too bad you have to pay a few hundred bucks for the EDFC unit + extra time/money install.

But in my opinion, HKS RS Coilovers are the best. Ride quality = Sex on wheels.
They actually have a softer spring rate in the fronts vs the LS+ (luxury sport model)
With HKS, u have no EDFC or pushbotton electronic stiffness adjustment.
But then again, i can adjust the stiffness on my ride (all four corners) in <2 minutes.
The ***** are EASILY accessible, yes even the rears. No need to jack up the car.

Just my opinion.
