Are OEM 17 wheels/tires good in snow?

About to purchase a set of used OEM 17s with original all season tires. Anyone have any experience driving them in the snow? I'm hoping they will perform much better than the OEM 19s. Should I just buy the wheels and go with blizzaks or are the all season tires good enough so that I can save about 1k on the new tires.

I think for winter you would be much better off getting a set of dedicated winter tires to mount on the 17"ers. Much better for starting and stopping in snowy conditions.

or save that money to buy a beater..preferably 4X4..but a FWD is fine too. i just dont feel confortable and confident enough to put a RWD on the snow, plus if u can, why put ur nice pretty G35 in the snow?
