Nismo wheels for 05 coupe
Are there nismo wheels available for 2005 coupe models?-all the websites I see that sell LMGt4's say they are for 03-04 models.
Also, would the nismo wheels work ok in a winter setup? Do winter tires only come up to 18s for the g35 coupe? Anyone have any problems w/ vdc w/ the nismo wheels?
Any recommedations on winter tires to accompany the nismo wheels? Can anybody recommend a good place to order from?
Thanks!

Yes the current Nismo wheels will work on an '05 and an '06. You can retrofit forward or backward on the Coupe and 350Z.
IMO, you would not want to use these on a winter SetUp. You would want to use 17s for snows. My recommendation for 17s would be 350Z wheels. Thy are being sold for $300 or $400 for a set, by "Z" owners upgrading. They are good looking for 17s, fit the Coupe perfectly and are OEM quality.
Nismo 18s are about $1800 or less for a set. I've had mine for a couple of years, and love 'em.

1. Smaller is better when driving in snow/ice.
2. Why would you want nice wheels for the winter? You should be using skunky cheap rims that you don't care about getting grimy with salt.
Don't they make limited edition 19" Nismo wheels?

2. I live in Chicago so these are going to stay on my care for temperature reasons for a long time of the year. I usually use PT to get around, so when it snows heavily I won't even drive. I don't really care about the salt grime-I would wheel wax like crazy and in the end, the wheels are just metal.
So would the 18' nismo wheels with dunlop M3's be a bad option for me for winter?

I still don't understand why you would want Nismo wheels for the winter.
What are your plans for these wheels? Just in the winter and go back to stock in the spring? I find that pointless, since you are basically throwing away money. A set of 17" wheels are dirt cheap not to mention the savings would carry over when buying the winter tires vs 18" tires.

Dealer told me the oem wheels are 640 to 800 a piece depending on 17 or 18 and the 17's are the most expensive! and tires are 100-150 depending.
I don't want to buy used nissan 350z wheels either and I don't want to get aftermarket wheels.
So the cheapest option for me seems to be the nismo 18's with Dunlop M3's. Is this such a bad winter setup? Will the nismos be worse than other 18 in. aftermarket wheels for the winter?
Do others not choose to use the nismos as a winter setup b/c of
1. the price
2. worried about damage b/c of salt/ice
3. Bad performance for winter
If the answer is just 1-2-then I'm opting for the nismos b/c I don't care about those two. If the answer is 3, then I might have to consider the 350z wheels.

I'd say a 17" wheel will always perform better in snow than an 18. Like puff said, you get better traction w/ smaller wheels. There is more sidewall and tread that can dig in and a grip.
The dealership prices are ridiculous. Like people have said, you can get 17" wheels for dirt cheap. But if you have an issue with buying used wheels, then just get the Nismo wheels if you want peace of mind.
And yes, the answer is usually 1 and 2. As long as you have the proper rubber on them, they will perform. I personally like Blizzaks.

Thanks for all the replys-I think I am decided on the nismos, but many websites say problems can occur if put on vehicles w/ VDC w/out also installing nismo shocks and sway bar-is this BS? For those who rock the nismos, any problems w/ the VDC?
