Wider tires on same wheels?

Ok its getting close to new tire time, again, and I was wondering if I can get wider tires on my current wheels. As of now I have Volk SF Challenges in 19x8.5 up front and 19x9.5 rears wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1-S 245/35 ZR 19, 275/35 ZR 19. Would it be feasible to get some 255/35 and 285/35s on the same rims, especially the rear?

Yes and yes. Your 9.5" rears will easily accommodate 285/35/19's and your 8.5" fronts will accommodate 255/35/19's.

FYI, if you go to Tirerack.com, choose just about any performance tire and then click on "Specs", it gives you all the different tire sizes available and a "Rim Width Range" for each size.

Would running the 285 with 245 cause any problems with the VDC/ABS/odo/speedo? Reason being I don't really need the fronts yet, however my rears are starting to resemble slicks. I do plan on getting 255s up front when they are needed though.

Is anyone running the 255 and 285 on 8.5s and 9.5s?

FYI, i'm no pro whatsoever, but having a tire FIT doesn't mean it will perform the way it is meant to be, or even SAFE.
