all-season 17"

all-season 17"
I am looking at replacing my el-42's (junk) with some good quality all-seasons that will hopefully be okay for winter in CT. I would like to stay with a bridgestone (or fuzion) line as I have a great local bridgestone dealer. I am looking at the potenza 009 (or re950) in 235/45-17 or the fuzion hri in the same size. any thoughts/suggestions or experiences with these? My neighbor has a 2003 525i with all-seasons and said he had no problem last winter (a good winter to judge by).
thanks

Will you turly be using these tires "All seasons"?
or will they be JUST for winter?
If just for winter I'd go with Dunlop Graspic DS-2. Cheap enough at less than $100 each but GREAT snow / ice traction.
the problem with all season tires is they dont do any one condtion WELL. but they do perform OK in all conditions.

I do plan on using year-round, at least trying them for year-round. I am not too aggressive a driver and some of the snows are too good a snow tire for all the highway driving I do in the winter without any snow on them. So I was looking at a compromise. Any issues with the 235/45-17 size?
