05 G35x w/ 18s?

Has anyone here with a G35x replaced the stock 17s with OEM 18s or 19s even (like from the sedan or the coupe)? I know tons of people here have aftermarket rims but I'm a big fan of the stock look.

I found threads asking the same question

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ight=g35x+rims

but I havent found people who have actually done it.

Also, does anyone know why the X only comes with 17s?

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

-Pete

Yes quite a few have switched to 18s and some 19s.
The general consensous with the X is do not stagger rims and whatever size you go to try and keep the outside diameter close to the same.

I've read not to stagger the rims on a thread somewhere but never got what that meant. Does that mean different sizes?

"same" as in same as the stock 17s or "same" as in same as each other (all four new ones the same)?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I get this right.

Stagger is to put different size tires or rims front to back. The coupe runs a staggered set-up, it has narrower tires on the front. Some say it is not good to do this on the X because of the awd system.

I meant close to the same diameter meaning for example I went from the 215/55R17 to the sedan sport wheel which is 235/45R18 and their diameters are very close to the same. This is called plus sizing. Your speedo stays close and it doesn't affect your vdc. Here is a site for checking tire diameters or plus sizing.

Hope I made sense.
