NEED: Comparative Reviews on Ultra-High Performance Tires
NEED: Comparative Reviews on Ultra-High Performance Tires
I've been searching for wheels for my G, but I have not been able to find as much resources in researching which tire fits my needs. Did some searches on google, with no results, and a search in this forum came up with negligible results. Wondering if anyone has come across an unbiased objective comparative review on some of the most popular performance tires for the G.
In particular, I'd like to see a comparative review on the following:
(What I've learned so far from independent reviews/personal experience)
-Toyo (Great grip, soft sidewall leading to mushy response, quiet)
-Falken (Mixed review, great grip, one comment regarding autocross worthiness, low tread life)
-Kumho (Great value, good performance, very loud)
-Hankook
-Yokohama
-Michelin (Pilot Sport OEM: Good grip, good response, noisy, low tread life)
-Goodyear
-Bridgestone
If this isn't possible, perhaps a survey of members who can review various tires compared to the baseline OEM Michelin Pilot Sport tires that come with the 6MT and Wheel and Tire package.
Ideally, I would like a summer only tire with the following characteristics in order:
1. Traction/Temperature
2. Steering Response
3. Price/Value
4. Noise
5. Tread Wear
Looking at the following staggered fitment:
Front: 245/35/19 /w 19x8.5 rim
Rear: 275/35/19 /w 19x9.5 rim
Possible plans to lower the car via new coilover suspension (Nismo S-tune). Any lowering issues with 19" wheels?

This has been discussed in many threads.
