Advantage: faster acceleration, saves more gas
Disadvantage: upsets the weight balance even more (and while I'm at it, yes, it's STUPID for Infiniti to claim their "superior" front-rear weight ratio on the G35 coupe).

For my driving style, the advantages of driving without a spare tire out-weighs the disadvantage.
+1..... The spare goes back in for trips.

No way, not worth it unless it is a dedicated track car. Performance is neligible for removing something so light.

A gallon of gas weighs about 6 lbs. So, if you're willing to stop for a gallon every 15-20 miles you'll save some weight.

Check out Centerline rims. They're known for their lack of weight and many use them for tracking/racing.

I left mine in. Probably take it out when I get my Stoptech BBK and replace it with something. I always like having a spare.

But I did cut my toenails and started skipping meals for added weight reduction for "performance."

LOL . . . That's probably a better way to go.

Don't forget to cut your hair, as well.

Hey andy, I noticed some of your mods and was wondering if you could give me some feedback regarding them. Such as the Stillen sways, window up(?) and HKS exhaust. Thanks.

Don't forget the heaviest junks in your car are passenger seat and rear seats. The passenger seat weights more than 100lbs and rear seats weights another 50 with the back board. Essentially removing these will make your car weight the same as a 350Z.

Of course, when I want to take passengers I put the seats back in. For one passenger, you will find it's best to put the rear seats in and have the passenger sit in the passenger side. That way you'd get close to 50:50 front/rear, right/left. If you want both performance and practicality, bolt on a couple of those fold up picnic chairs in place of OEM seats, these weight less than 5lbs each.
