How do you reset the TPMS?

How do you reset the TPMS? My TPMS light came on a few days ago and has been on ever since. The pressure in the tires is fine. It came on the day I removed a wheel to install my sway bars. Could the fact that my wheel was 10' from the car have caused the light to trigger? How can I reset it? I looked in the manual and found no reset procedure. I thought it reset by itself.

My girlfriend's TPMS light resets every 30 days.
Sorry thats PMS.

It should if the pressure is fine. It might just take a few days/miles to go off. The light should not come on by just rotating the wheels etc.... But new sensors to your car need to be reset by the dealer. Not sure what happens when you use your spare or no sensor at all.

lol, I almost was thinking, "Really?" right before the second line...

As far as the sensor reset, the only thing I've read or heard is the dealer reseting the sensor. Once the tires have been put back on, it should reset itself or get a valid reading from the TPMS. I'd call the dealer and ask. Leave out the mod part, cuz some dealer are freakin' **** about that. Even though it shouldn't affect the warranty at all unless it is directly responsible for the problem.

Maybe reseting the ECU will help?

Took it to the wheel shop. They couldn't find anything wrong with it so they put the wheels back on. Five minutes down the road and voila! No more TPMS light. Not sure what was wrong. If I mounted the wheel back improperly I would imagine I would've felt it handle funny. I've driven it hard on a couple of occassions during the past two days with no problem. Don't know what it was but I'm glad it's gone for now.
