Eibach sprint lower on the left side

Folks,

I had my sedan lowered using eibach prokit about 3 weeks ago and I just noticed from far away that the left side seems lower.. thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but upon measuring it the left side was almost half an inch lower than the right side (rear only). Measuring from the center hub up to the lip, left side measures about 26 3/8 inches where as the right is about 26 11/16. That's 5/16th of an inch.. Has any one encountered this problem? Do you think I can take my car back to the shop and demand that they provide a new set of springs? BTW my spring is black instead of red..

BTW, the fronts are identical heights.

Re: Eibach sprint lower on the left side

I went out and took another measurement on mine, and the rear driver's side is lower (3/8-1/4" difference). A friend and I did the job ourselves instead of a shop. Makes me wonder about the others who have lowered their G's. Maybe Eibach should be contacted to see if complaints have been filed.

Can anyone else with Eibach's check to see how big a difference there is in height? I wonder if we just let them settle if they will even out a little more.

Regards,

JC

I just checked mine and it is leveled all around. Make sure you measure in on a flat surface. I'm sure you did.

Yes, my G is parked in the garage.. I am thinking of switching the springs to see if it makes any diffrence. Right now the toe in on the left is noticibly more than the right side.
I will probably do it myself. Any one know any good alignment shop in the east bay between Hayward and north San Jose?

Cool. Switching the rear springs should be pretty easy. I think there are a total of two bolts to remove the springs, not including the tires. Let me know if that corrected your problems. Seriously though, the G's I've seen lowered have similar problems as you do. Go to a G35 Meet, and you will see what I'm talking about.

make sure the spring is seated correctly. sometimes if they are not seated correctly they can twist around and you might suddenly hear a loud popping noise when it falls into place.

That's horrible. That must KILL the car's handeling! Let me know what happens.

Re: Eibach sprint lower on the left side

Well, I swapped the eibach rear springs on my Sedan yesterday. The heights are closer now but the left is still lower by 3/16" instead of 5/16".. so improvement. yea, I am **** about this since I can see the "limp". It's gotta be parallell to the ground...

I am not sure if I will have alignment done now and will probably wait a few months and get my new shocks, and new tires at the same time if excessive thread ware is seen. Then I will get a 235/50-17. I did take it for a short drive and did not notice any difference on the handling..

Since you asked..

Re: Eibach sprint lower on the left side

Glad to hear swapping the spring helped a little. In a month or less, just get your car alligned. Make sure they fix your camber and bring it as close to spec as possible. You might want to make a mental note on where the camber bolts are currently set at. That way after they align your car, you can check the bolts placement to verify if they actually did anything to adjust them.

Prat,
You must have installed the special NASCAR springs. They are automatically lower on the left side by design. JK
