Wheels = attention from cops?
Wheels = attention from cops?
Lets face it, wheels change the look of a car quite a bit, and make it look more sporty. I was just wondering if any of you feel like you get pulled over more or checked out more by the cops since you got some wheels on. (especially black wheels, since they stand out more than stock)
Im just gonna say yes... i dont have wheels yet... in a few months i will.. but when i ride in friends cars with aftermarket wheels... i feel like you got more looks than normal.
Without a doubt
It is without question that rims will draw more attention from cops, and anyone else for that matter, to your vehicle. If it didn't, why would people be buying rims?
If the question was "Do rims increase the likelihood of getting a ticket from cops?", then the answer would be less clear. The answer to that would still probably be 'yes' as logically, the more times you have a cop look at you while you're doing something "illegal", the greater the chances of you getting a ticket will be.

no
ive never had a problem with the cops.
if i get pulled over its def goin to be something else that they notice before my rims.
darkass tint
loud exhaust
50' noise violation
front person video
10000K headlights
rims <- last on the list to get pulled over for

My vote, YES, you will get more attention. Not really get pulled over for it, but they will spot you alot easier driving along side a bunch of cars with stock boring wheels. Even more if you change color. Im getting some bronze work emotion in April.
P.S. The our cars alone will get more attention.

when i was a teen, my wheels caused the wrong attention. now that i am older, cops actually appreciate the looks of my car.

Completely depends on the wheels, huge chrome blingers-well sure.
But average looking/size silver wheels, many cops dont know the difference. Not all cops know what wheels are stock on what cars....

I've had aftermarket wheels on my G and my previous car. I never felt like I was pulled over because of it. When I was pulled over it was always for something legit, like speeding or illegal tint.
Been 21 years [almost 500,000 miles] since I have been pulled over for anything........no accidents either!
Always stock wheels not oem sizes [on 300zx turbo, Pathfinder, Q45, C43AMG] all of which were/are modified..............no loud exhaust. Stealth and I drive 80-90 mph+ with those ocassional 120-150 tests.
