Scratch on Rim

I scrapped the edge of my rim against the curb. I know I'am an ***. Is there a place I can go to get this fixed? The rim is not bent just scrapped on the edge about an inch and a half.
Thanks

Re: Scratch on Rim

heh.....scratched my rear one a few months ago... i havent gotten it fixed though.
Your most likely gonna have to end up getting it refinished...will cost around $80
not worth it IMO for just an inch or two (like my scratch)

You can always try covering it up with silver touch up paint

Re: Scratch on Rim

yea same thing here scratched it like a tardo. tried taking it to the dealer because they have guys that do this and they told me that there is some kind of special paint on the sport package wheel and the shop has to be EPA certified. Now I dont know if they are BSing or what but my initial estimate for the repair was about 225 for one wheel. The only way I know of fixing it right now is to buy a new wheel. but that is really expensive, 845 for a wheel last time i checked.

Re: Scratch on Rim

Damn! 845 for a new rim !!!! thats crazy expensive. Im going to call my dealer and see what they can do, I will probably just fix one if the price is around 100. The other one aint that bad.

"One was damaged at a car wash"

I'm in Northern NJ too. Which car wash so I can avoid.

Or which Car Washes are recommended? Can't continue to always hand wash.

Re: Scratch on Rim

I know that one. Took an old car there once. Wouldn't take the coupe.

There is one on Rt 17, think it's called Magic Touch. I went there for an oil change a while back, before I got the coupe, and while there spoke to the manager about the safety of the wash for the coupe I was soon to get. He assured me that they had the latest equipment and it was safe.

Anyone been there for a wash?

Re: Scratch on Rim

Personally now I do not trust any of the auto car washes, I dont care how much the manager assures me. Now I only do it myslef, cant tust nobody with my G. But if you dont have the time, only go to the hand wash places.

Re: Scratch on Rim

I would recommend Wheels of America in Farmingdale, NY. It may be an hour and a half to two but trust me its worth it. They are one of the best on the whole Eastern Seaboard.
Call em' up....can't hurt ya!!
Good Luck!!
