OK, just got an update from the dealership. They are going to polish and apply a new clear coat on the rims on some of their car to see if it works. If it does, they will fix mine. If it doesn't work, they will have to replace all 4 19".

The wheels will have to be refinished. I decided to have my dealer polish the lip and paint the wheels so I wont that problem anymore!!

The dealer had my wheel refinished, but I picked the car up in the rain (which continued for the past week)- and I didn't notice that the wheels finish doesn't match until I first washed the car today. The refinish job is very clean and nicely done, but it doesn't look anything like the other 3 wheels.

I already spoke to somebody at the dealer and they'll be having a look at it next week- I imagine I'll wind up trading it for another wheel off their lot.

I have the same problem but I noticed this after I bought my car from someone. Could the dealer have done this?

It is similar, but I don't know if you can pin that on the dealer. The previous owner could have done it by using harsh wheel cleaner. I can pin it on my dealer because the spots appears right after they washed it. BTW, they are refinishing it right now. Should be ready by tomorrow. The Service Manager is very nice about it. Big ups to Modern Infiniti in Greensboro.

do you guys know how i can clean my damage off? someone else said wenol? i'm a little sketchy about that. plus, since i bought my car from a previous owner, i don't know if the my super rozza's are clear coated =/ any help?

I have the spots on my 19"s. I noticed them a couple of days after getting the car home.

I will wait and see if they come out with something new on this, recognizing the problem. Mine are minor at this point and obviously they won't get any worse if I am the only one washing the car. I think I would rather just have them refinished in either DG with a polished lip or chrome.

I looked at this site and saw one about the tire dressing but not the wheel cleaner.

im facing the same problems now. i just got my car last weekend and now the wheels have the same stain/streak mark...kinda liquit-like..

any new solutions? my car is in the dealership and they will try to clean it off. but im pretty sure the wheels are ruined at this point. i'll see what i can do when i pick up my car this friday. might have to discuss with the sales manager and see what they willing to do to fix my rims.

I have these stains on my new (to me) 03 g35 coupe. It seems like the same problem that everyone else is having. I'll post some pics I just took. But has there been anything found for fixing these stains ourselfs? I have tried wheel cleaner and gasoline and nither have done anything. I will go buy a clay bar if this is working.

I just bought this G35, I got an unbelivable deal on it, with out this dealer mistake I would not have been able to own a g35. The previous owner was a laidy in her 50's and the dealer tells me that she took great care of the car. but judging by the curb rash on the wheels, she was a horriable parallel parker!

is it just me or does infiniti need to lear a thing or two about painting. I have the ax6 red paint and that has some factory flaw and its chipping off my hood like crazy.

Peninsula Infiniti screwed up my wheels too the same way. Turns out the detailer sprayed some wheel cleaner on the wheels and it got left on too long in ceratain places and stained the wheels. They should'nt be spraying wheel cleaner on them to begin with, but I guess in most cases they do it and spray water right away so the acid doesn't have much of a chance.

Anyways, Ron Cosgrove has been taking care of me there.. first they said they would refinish the wheels. They had some specialist come out and said that all four wheels would have to be completely re-done in a special paint booth. Next Ron said that would be too costly so they would just get me a new set of wheels off a new loaner sedan. About a month passed and they couldn't get it so they said they would go ahead and refinish the wheels.

The refinished wheels look okay, but I am not satisfied with the look (too glossy) and there are too many imperfections and bubbles (which is typical for wheel refinishing I guess...

Anyways, so someone just totalled one of their loaner cars and they're trying to order a new one with sport wheels so I can get them...

I hope I get my wheels back to oem spec soon.
