225/45/17 tires on G35 sedan anyone?
I searched and it returned no results. I don't think the search engine works correctly with tire sizes?
Well, is anybody running 225/45/17 on stock G35 sedan sport wheels? I'm jus curious as to what owners think in terms of looks, riding feel, driving feel for tires with that sidewall. I did run 235/45/17 Kuhmo 711 but it quickly ended up being crap. It did feel harsher riding or you could feel more than with my stock Goodyear GSD tires.
So, anybody have any feedback on 225/45/17 hopefully on Goodyear F1GSD3 or Toyo Proxes4?

Yeah, looking can be a chore but I did find many people that tried different size tires on their stock wheels.
It seems that most (unscientific sample) think 235/50/17 is the best size for the car, if you keep the stock wheels.
Anyway, that's the decision I made and am happy with it. Beware that the size you're talking about is around 17% different from stock and the forums say that could mess up a bunch of things with your car. The 235/50/17 is only off by 0.6%. There are alot of good tires out there. The ones I chose are the Falken Ziex ZE 512.
Some reviewers think their quality is questionable (many seem satisfied) but Consumer Reports rated them #1 in 2005. Since I've only had the tires for a week, I can't give you a fair assessment as to their quality but I can say they look great, offer some wheel protection, ride softer but corner almost as well as my old stock Turdanzas, are MUCH QUIETER (what the heck, they're new) and it seems as if the car rolls easier.
Hope this helps

Just take a look.

Rides OK, but that would depend on tire model.
I did not want 50 series sidewall for perfromance reasons.
No, it didn't mess anything and I don't care about speedo error.

I ran a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's on my car in 225/55R17. I loved them while they lasted. I felt obliged to drive them hard, and so they lasted 12,000 miles. (Disclaimer: I autocross, approx. once a month, which wears tires out way faster than aggressive street driving.)
I'd stick with 235/50R17 for daily use (instead of the stock 215/55R17). You don't want to get off the stock tire diameter, or your speedometer will be off.
You can squeeze a 245/45R17 onto the stock rims for autocross/track use, but I wouldn't drive on it daily.
