DIY: Shock Sensor In Cabin

take off plastic panels to gain access to the bcm and ingition wires

connect the blue and greeen shock sensor wire together and connect them to one diode shown here

cut the trunk pin wire and connect the other diode to it. then connect the diodes together as shown in picture above and below.

finally connect the red wire to the fuse and connect the fuse to the white/blue wire in the ignition harness. connect the black wire to the black/red wire ignition harness.

yellow wire in above picture has nothing to do with shock sensor module!!

mount the sensor to a good location and you are all done. i recommend ziptie-ing it to the steering column but you can use other locations as well.

thanks for reading. hope you get some good use out of this diy

the shock sensor detects impacts to the car and will set the alarm off. so if someone tries to smash one of your windows or hits the car the alarm will go off.

the sensor is a dei 504m module
here is the more specific info:

DEI OEM STINGER DOUBLEGUARD SHOCK / IMPACT SENSOR for factory alarms. The most effective protection against shock / impact. Uses patented electromagnetic technology to eliminate mechanical parts. Two outputs are provided. The first offers a Warn Away response on light impact and the second instantly triggers the alarm on hard impact. Draws less than 1mA. Will also work with most aftermarket alarms systems. DEI Part No. 504M

Damn finally a post on how to get it installed inside the car. I've had my sensor sitting here for a while. Never got around to installing it. Looks like I got better instructions now to get it done.

The trunk pin wire changes color depending on year, on an 06 coupe you tap the solid red wire in the BCM, and not the red/white wire. https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-video-electronics/96195-anyone-install-shock-sensor-add-06-yet.html

Some have wired this into the hood pin sensor wiring and keep under the hood in case of headlight theives attempting to do a butcher job. It's cheap and easy peace of mind wherever you believe the risks are.

yes the hood pin is another option, but due to the excessive heat and bouncing around i have found that the sensors will break over time. this is why i have opted for the incabin install

we also have a resonance sensor that has two microphones that you can attach one to each headlight. then if someone taps or flicks your heeadlights or doorhandles your alram will go off. works just like the shock sensor in integration.

I've had my sensor in for 3 years and knock on wood - no problems. It just went off last friday when fireworks were going off a couple miles away. If it goes bad I will certainly look into the microphones as they sound pretty cool.

Did you find a switched source of 12V or ground under the hood? I just have it wired to the battery terminal and the ground, so it's active all the time, but I'd prefer it to be switched on the ignition.
