Backup Camera wire

Hello all, i'm about to install my pioneer headunit and backup camera,
i've been reading the threads, the harness is all connected, but i'm still a bit confused with the backup camera wiring

So i just want to confirm before i do anything:
I'm supposed to wire the purple wire (i have a coupe, so purple for me, orange for sedan) from driver side kick plate, splice it and connect it to the back of the headunit (reverse light signal)
like this

and the power of the backup camera, a lot of people are saying connect it to the back up light. Can i tap the power wire into "constant power" or "switched power" of the headunit?

Thanks

The backup camera doesn't need constant power, so powering it with the reverse light power makes sense - unless you want to be able to use the camera when you're not in reverse. In that case, use the switched power, not the constant power, otherwise you'll be draining the battery 24/7.

Next up, another problem
i'm about to tap into the reverse signal light, according to the forum, it's suppose to the purple wire next to the blue/white wire.. but it's blank!
see image below

Now, which wire should i tap into..? (to connect to back of pioneer HU)

Do i have other options to get the backup camera to work?
What should i tap into from the back of headunit?
