Power Steering Fluid
Power Steering Fluid
Okay guys, I just need to top off my power steering fluid and I'm confused as to what do I use. I seen here on the forum that you guys use Mobil 1 ATF? But why use automatic fluid for power steering? I've also seen on here to use the genuine Nissan power steering fluid. So would this work for our cars or is there a specific type of Nissan power steering fluid?:
Yup, that works I purchased that about a month ago from Amazon. You only really need one bottle I made the mistake of buying two. You can change out the old fluid and replace it with that entire bottle.
I replace power steering fluid every oil change. I use a bulb syringe/turkey baster to suction the fluid from the reservoir. I then replace with new fluid to the cold fill line. You use atf because an automatic transmission is a hydraulic pump and so is the power steering system. I use Valvoline maxlife in mine. 211k and no leaks.
