ATF in radiator

ATF in radiator

After I replaced my broken radiator on my infiniti g35x sedan 2007 I got problems.When I put selector in D car doesnt want to start driving I need to push gas more to make it happened.So my mechanic told me that its because of the low level of your ATF so I need to add fluid but I dont know how much I lost when I replaced radiator.Can somebody assist me with this?

Refilling
INFOID:0000000000956957
1. Fill new oil into the transmission to the level of the filler plug
mounting hole.
2. After refilling oil, check oil level.
3. Set a gasket on filler plug and then install it to transmission.
Tighten filler plug to the specified torque.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse gasket.

• Check if oil is leaking from transmission or around it.
LEVEL

Almost 1 qt in the radiator thats clearly for me but still dont understand how to check oil level how to warm up transmission and etc

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Please tell us you didn't put ATF in the radiator, I'm so confused by your posts I don't have a clue what you put where......

I think he replaced his radiator and is wondering how much ATF was lost after doing so, since on auto models ATF flows through the rad via extra hose connections on the bottom. Actually, I'm more stumped that someone has the technical skill to change a radiator but doesn't know how to check fluid levels in his transmission.


OP, you warm up the transmission by driving it. You also check fluid via a dipstick, similar to how you check engine oil. Only it's probably held closed by a bolt. Remove the bolt, then you can pull out the dip stick to check level. Should be up near the firewall, on the right (passenger) side of the engine bay. Telcoman gave you a link to the correct document, but quoted how to fill up a manual transmission, completely different.

Lol Of course I didnt put it in the radiator I just connect 2 hoses wich is going from AT to radiator thats it

Of course I know about dipstick and all that stuff but I dont know actually how much atf I lost so yeah will try to warm up and all that stuff which need to be done to check my level in AT

You must be new here. The G had a cold AND a hot check on the dipstick, and it is accurate provided it is on flat ground.

so then I dont know why but mine has only HOT

Do you really need to know specifically how much fluid was lost? If it's low on the dipstick, add fluid until it reads full. Done. Simple.
