Fixing Various Issues on My Coupe - Cost?

I recently bought a 05 g35 for a good price but the bottom door on both side has these show in these pics. https://i.imgur.com/ur6JA6z.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IBYVx1O.jpg on both side bottom door. It really ticking me off. Hope someone know how to fix this or a least make it less noticeable.

what that is, is the molding that hangs off the bottom of the door. just pick up a new pair from the dealership. it is just some plastic clips that hold them on. you can change booth door in like 20 to 30 min.

It's really common on our cars and most will have it happen to them at some point. You just buy a new strip and install it in place of the old one if you want to fix it. I'm not sure how much it costs, but you probably have to go OEM on it since it's a pretty specialized part.

I just replaced both sides, it was about $180 for both. Pretty ridiculous that two rubber weather strips cost that much.

Cut, sand, touch-up (paint). Basically do what you need to camouflage. Its a pointless piece that has to use, and if you hide it well no one will ever notice. Not even you.

Mine were peeling and I just sliced them with a razorblade in the same spot on both sides. Looks like it was made that way.

I'm pretty sure they'res a switch both on the driver side and passenger side to bring it down right? Are both passenger window switches not working?

I drive the sedan so not sure if the coupe is the same in that sense.

You mean Window.... not mirror, i take it. Window motor failures on these cars are pretty much almost guaranteed if you own your car for a good length of time.

Remove the door panel, take the motor out and clean it and reinstall. It will probably work again for a few more years if you do that. I did it to my car on my divers side and it's been working great for about a year and a half now... knock on wood.

Is it "row" down the window? I always thought it was "roll" down the window, but row would make sense considering old window handles. Kind of a "rowing" motion..no? K..

In order to fix it properly and have it look right, the whole quarter panel will need to be painted. A body shop will have to fix the dents, prime and base coat the affected area. Then they will have to clear coat the whole panel to blend. From the sounds of it you wanted to just get the dent out? What about the paint? It will rust and create more problems.

No one here can really tell you how much it will cost. We can throw out numbers back and fourth, but you need to take your car to different body shops and get quotes. Look on Yelp for some good reviewed shops.

I've had to pay for body work out of pocket before. Rough guess would be $2500.

with the whole rear quarter panel replaced, repainted you should be looking at 1500-2000. Without quarter panel replace, where it just needs fixing and repainted, then 1000-1500. I had a damage like that a few months ago, only it was a little more extensive, like i had to replace the door, but the panel was fixable, so i paid around 2K. I hope that helps in your searching for a good rate.
