Windshield Wipers

Windshield Wipers
Hello,
I am a new user. I have a 2003 G35 Coupe Black. I have noticed that whenever I use my windshield wipers (24 inch on driver's side and 17 inch on passengers) the windshield fluid ends up all over the vertical pieceto the left of the driver's side. This being the case, whenever the car is semi-clean, I am unable to use the wipers for fear that the windshield fluid will just end up wetting that part of the car or even the roof if I am driving on the highway and the fluid gets sucked up to the roof. Has anyone else experienced this? I am thinking that maybe replacing the 24 inch blades on the driver's with shorter ones, maybe 22 inch ones, might at least help? Any ideas?

I'm guessing the "leak" has to do more with the shape of the windshield itself and how far to the left driver's side wiper extends. On my wife's crv, the driver's side blade comes leftward just as much but without this "leakage."
Anyone else also avoiding using the fluid? I just had the car detailed, not cheap, and I would hate to already mess it up with this windshield fluid all over the body.

That does work slightly better, but even when I time it to spray when the wiper is in the down position, once the wiper blade comes up it brings the fluid up with itself and then proceeds to distribute it beyond the windshield. It sounds like others use the wipers reservedly if at all. Just never experienced this issue with my Legend or CRV in many years of using the wipers. It's only a pain when the car is actually waxed and shiny and I am trying not to detract from it; otherwise the fluid only contributes marginally to the dirtiness.

Actually, on my Legend and CRV, the excess water runs down vertically downward toward the bottom of the windshield, so it isn't an issue there. Of course, neither of those cars is as fast or bad-*** as the G35.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem even when car is stationary, though probably not as bad. Maybe there's something amiss with my wipers then. Thanks for the helpful comments, all.
