Post Faint constant "dial tone" sound always on - coming from speaker

I hear a faint constant high pitch noise that is constantly coming from the speakers. Here are some facts on the issue

- The car does NOT have to be on for the sound to be there, just on ACC

- If I open the front drivers side door, the sound gets a bit louder (haven't tried other doors yet)

- Sound comes from the speakers

- The sound does NOT change with RPM/Speed

- Completely stock BOSE system

Anyone have any previous experience with this? Insights?

Thanks

Your bose system is the problem its a common problem for these cars the acc unit and bose rado are tied together on the same circuit board when one starts to have a problem it affects the otheer. There is no cheap fix for this. Your best and cheapest option would be to replace the radio with a metra kit which will come with a stand alone acc unit. It will cost about $150 -$200 for the kit with the wire harness adaptor. There is another kit that is more expensive i think its about $300- $325 but the buttons for the acc unit look like the factory buttons while the metra kit buttons are cheap looking rubber button but, most people get used to the metra kit after awhile, but I don't remember the brand name of that kit. Then the price of the radio of what ever you choose as compared to you sending your radio off to be repaired which could get up to over a $1000. For that kind of money you could get a nice after market radio with blue tooth ipod connection hands free back up camera dvd and alot of other options.

I have the Metra kit and while it is definitely worse than the stock replica kit only somebody who owns or has owned a G35 will notice it's not stock. None of my friends so far have noticed it isn't stock.

I just noticed you didn't list the year of your car in the post. If you have an 05+ it's probably not the problem NismoG mentioned. 03-04, even if it's not the climate control unit your radio is going to fail anyways and you might as well fix it now.

Its a 2003.5 model year
I hear they have a lot of problems with their head units. Especially with CD's jamming up inside.
Im surprised its lasted this long. Im fine with leaving it alone until the unit dies. I was just hoping the annoying high pitch was fixable.

Jninja26, what would making a call in the car determine?
