Factory iPod Integration Successful...
Here goes....i'm usually the one who says read the whole thread and do a ton of searching but all I see are folks with newer coupes with the install pics. I have a 2003 coupe with the SAT button on console and my VIN states that it is SAT pre-wired. Dumb question: I need the kit from EverythingG35 with SAT, correct? Is this the kit plus two cables? Anyone completed a similar year install?
Doing some looking around and it seems the USA Spec PA11-NIS would be less expensive than the factory adapter setup. What's the difference other than the interface running from the trunk? I can see that it would be a bit easier because of not having to take out the Head Unit. Please shed some light here. Thanks.

I'm finally getting around to doing this as well. With the USA Spec PA11-NIS will I still have direct control of the iPod while docked? I noticed on some older posts, that the iPod goes into a "connected" mode, thus not allowing you to control the iPod itself. I'm wondering if there have been some updates to the USA Spec product that allows for direct access...
Ok, I'm confused a little. I have an 03 not wired for SAT 5AT. Have the Bose but no Sat button or radio button. Juust AM, FM, Tape, CD as the source buttons. I did pull out the unit and there is a plug for the adapter. I plugged it in with the Aux running to a Sirius Stiletto. Can not get it to come up. Any help here?
hey all... I dont want to step on any toes in this forum so please allow me to apologize first. If what I am about to do is offensive to anyone please let me know... My G35 sedan was just totalled. I was able to yank out the Ipod wiring harness (i was pre-wired for Sat) so just the 1 din plug w/ the Ipod adapter [iPod Factory Integration Coupe/Sedan [999U7-IPOD]. I was plannng on giving this unit to a buddy that has a G35 however he already purchased one. so now I have one to sell as it will not work in the new car. Unit works like a dream and as you will see from this post it installs in minutes. literally took me 3 minutes to pull out of the trunk as I never ran the wires up into the cabin of the car.
PM me if you are interested or if you object to this post. I again dont want to step on any toes however I am certain I can not return the unit as it was installed and I have no use for it any longer.

I don't know if this was covered.
This is the factory IPOD kit for the Nissan's right? This kit being sold here:
http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/pro...roducts_id=521
Does this work with the IPHONE? I think I read somewhere it charges as well correct?

So does anyone know anything about this? I found it on everythingg35.com's website for the IPOD connection kit:
Is there some sort of "random" issue that i don't know about?
"**IT IS RECOMMENED THAT YOUR VEHICLE IS COMPLELTY STOPPED AND IN THE PARK (P) POSITION WHILE UNPLUGGING YOUR IPOD FROM THE INTEGRATION HARNESS**"
So last night I successfully installed a combination of the AAI-NIS2 and this on my 04 sedan. I followed various online instructions for installing the AAI-NIS2. As for wiring the SoundGate cable, there's a 12v wire that runs between the AAI-NIS2 box and the two 10-pin connectors that only switches when the ignition is on, so it was perfect for splicing in the positive lead on the SoundGate cable. Then I grounded it on a metal frame that was attached to the chassis.
Btw, for all you 6MT owners out there thinking about doing this, DONT WORRY ABOUT TAKING OFF THE SHIFT ****! I performed the entire installation without going through the hell that I hear it is to remove that ****. Just snap off that part of the dash and twist it sideways so it is not in the way, then put a towel over it so that when you rest the radio on it it doesn't scratch.

2007 Sedan - Non Bose, Not using SAT right now
I just ordered my kit from everythingg35 (iPod Factory Integration Coupe/Sedan
[999U7-IPOD]).
http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/pro...roducts_id=521
I chose this kit over the pa11-nis simply because of the ability to see the text on the HU and also the ease of install.
Not sure how the text will display on the Console (2007 G have a more pronounced Center Display where MP3 Data is displayed as well as FM/AM Information and other stuff)
This afternoon I looked in the trunk and found what I believe to be the SAT harness. It is the white plug dangling from the Upper Trunk Panel NOT from the side closest to the backseat but closest to the trunk opening…at least I think this is it. I just wanted to take a peak and after folding my out of shape body into the trunk to take a peak at what was in front of me….I think I can handle the install and once I remove the other panels I think it will be clear…
Here is what I plan on doing:
1-Install the kit
2-Run the IPOD Cable to the center console in between the two front seats
3-Install the IPOD Module under the back seat unless the IPOD Cable can stretch from the trunk to the center console (crossing my fingers)
I will take pictures and post them in a few weeks. I should have the install completed in a few weeks (3/31/2008)
Questions:
1-Has anyone else installed this kit in a 2007 Sedan and if so please provide feedback on the interface (what is displayed etc..) as well as any tips
2-I assume that the ability to run an audio device through the factory installed RCA Inputs in the console will still be usable(AUX Input)
Lastly, I currently run my IPOD through the RCA Inputs(AUX)….Nice quality etc…The only problem was I did not like having to manage the IPOD features using the IPOD and I want to use the audio features on the Console, as well as see the songs titles etc…. In my truck I have a Alpine Stereo where I can control all features from my IPOD as well as see limited text from the Apline deck and this is so sweet. Lastly the ability to charge my IPOD is nice as well. Although the console has a 12V connector option, I did not like the clutter it created with that charger. In addition I found some RCA Cables that claim to trickle charge an IPOD but they are $60+ and I felt investing in this kit is a better use of money.
Only time will tell. If after my install I don’t like it, keep watching this space for a “slightly used” kit for sale
The return policy of everythingg35 is a %20 restocking fee so who knows what can happen.
Later
Ps. In Arizona storing the IPOD in a trunk or in the car all day during the Summer is NOT a good idea. I don’t really listen to the IPOD except for in my car or when traveling on a plane. Storing the IPOD in the trunk or somewhere it is not convenient to disconnect so fequently. Having the IPOD in the console is a no-brainer

2007 Sedan - Non Bose, Not using SAT right now - iPod Integration installation
As a follow-up to my previous thread entry. Here is how I installed my kit in my 2007 G35 Sedan (non-nav and no Satellite tuner installed)
My iPod Factory Integration Coupe/Sedan [999U7-IPOD] kit arrived at 10:30 am today (Wednesday). The parts I got in the package were the iPod Gateway (999U7VR002), Harness Type B(999U7-VS000). I received this package from everythingg35.com ( a online merchant that is part of Infiniti of Scottsdale).
I excitedly opened the package and found that a bunch of stuff was missing (iPod Cable, Various Manuals, clips, grommet, padding and adhesive and other things like that). I called customer services, they apologized and said they would resend it. Since I was a local customer I drove the few miles to pick it up and was good to go…..
The images that follow will hopefully explain the process. However here is a step by step description…NOTE: This is shared simply to share my process and NOT as a educated tutorial on installing components….caveat emptor (buyer beware)
Steps
1) Remove from trunk – Top Panel (Don’t know the proper name but that is what I call it)
2) Remove from trunk – Back Panel (blah blah blah…see above)
3) Locate Satellite Harness – Pre installed on 2007 Models….Don’t know about others. Location is different than 2005 I know
4) Disconnect Car Battery (negative post)
(following done in trunk with no attaching to car…just to test..see pictures)
5) Connect Harness to iPod Gateway, Satellite Harness
6) Connect Harness Ground to….frame of car (used existing hole and bolt I had in the garage..save bolt for permanent use later)
7) Connect iPod Cable to iPod Gateway
8) Connect iPod
9) Reconnect Car Battery
10) Test iPod.
It works…Did not spend much time playing with controls only making sure that it worked
Now I need to permanently install so
11) Remove Backseat
12) I was going to install the iPod in the Center Console but changed my mind. I decided to locate the iPod in the center console in the backseat. The reasons A) Running the cable under the carpet was too much work, B) I did not want to cut into the backseats foam to locate the iPod Gateway (I don’t lease the G35, I purchased it, but if I was leasing I would not want to cut and drill the interior), C) The little cubby hole in the back center console is unused and good size to hold an iPod etc., D) Planning for future expectations (maybe a more advanced iPod integration system with the 2007 G35 is forthcoming…hint hint....heck rather than an iPod a USB Hard Drive is a better option) and E) It was less pain/work to install if I did not cut or dig under the carpet to thread the iPod cable. My rear center console is always up so the cable is NOT seen and even when it is down the cable is not really visible or obtrusive.
13) Mount iPod Gateway and tie down all cables etc.
14) Put Seat, Panels and everything back in reverse order
Anyway here are the pics….......you are probably asking how long this took. It took a total of 6 hours (1 hour taking pictures, 2 hours editing the pictures and writing this diatribe, and oh yeah about 3 hours on the install….which consisted of 1 hour cleaning up the zip ties etc (pretty **** about cable management and that stuff), and about 30 minutes to decide on another install option so only about 1 ½ hours of actual install work)
If you cannot see the pictures clearly (you may have to zoom in your browser or program that views images. The images are a width of 500 pixels so they are clear) send me an email and I will send them to you directly....
