My new VGA screen
Finally, after three months of planning and building I am done. The computer is still not in but the screen (VGA) as well as the DVD player are.
The screen is a Xenac 7" VGA+2 Composite touch screen. The picture quality is great. Here is a photo of the before/after.
I will post a more detailed log (with more pictures) when I am done installing the computer (NAV+MP3+DVD).
Special thanks to Carvey from Grubbs Infiniti for helping me identify and order the parts.

How is the screen when in sunlight? I too am working on a similar set up with a custom made computer (actually an apple laptop torn down and custom case). I am debating whether fabricating a custom dash that has a fixed angle or one which I could adjust (to compensate for view angle and ambient light). Any reviews on the screen would be appreciated. BTW how much was the custom dash work? and where are you located so I could see it in person (if possible).
Thanks in advance,
Eugene Kim

OK, call me stupid-I don't know alot about interior mods. Is that a custom-fabbed console? Or is that a JDM piece? Where did you get it/get it made? It looks sweet, by the way.

Re: My new VGA screen
It is pretty bright, I figured I will see what happens, like most people I go to work early and come back when it is dark so I don't expect it to be a big deal. Xenarc has an option for ultra bright (extra $150) that will get it to about 450nits... that is worst case scenario
The picture quality is great, it is very clear and can go to pretty high resolutions.
I have done all the custom work my self so I don't have a price for it. After practicing for a while with bondo/fiberglass on wood it took me about six hours of work with the actual dash piece.
I live in northern Virginia.
