Nasty Exploding Ad in the App

That video ad has got to go. I don't know who thought such an ad would be a good idea but having it take over the entire screen time and again even after hitting the "Done" link is pretty atrocious. I'll drop Driver if it doesn't stop.

I don't have the app, they did a good job with the mobile version of the site. No reason to make such threats! But that does have to be annoying.

Never seen it, what are you referring to?

I use "Disconnect" so it may block it

It was a video for some TV show. I would try to kill it before it ran long enough to figure out what show it was exactly. It is not running now.

As far as the threat, I'm here for the forum, not for the ads. I understand the ads are necessary, but when they become active rather than passive, it is counterproductive to the advertiser's objectives. The only way to vote on that is to walk. And let them know why. It was more than annoying, it made using the site impossible.

Hey everyone!

Those types of ads should not be occurring and we can get them killed. Did the video ad occur in Garage Talk? IOS or Android? Thanks.

Bob

Nasty Exploding Ad in the App

Thanks for the follow up Bob. I was using the iOS version of the Garage Talk app. I'm on the last 8.x iteration; haven't upgraded to iOS 9.0 yet.

The ad in question no longer appears to be running. Haven't seen it the last two days. Wish I could tell you what show it was pushing, but I was too busy trying to make it go away to pay attention to what it was trying to say.

Thank you for the followup! Hopefully we can find the ad source.

Hey,

IB turned off all ads for G35 on the mobile app. That should prevent ad partners from serving up poorly coded ads. Thanks.

Wow. That's an unexpected solution to the issue. Thanks a heap and a half for being so responsive. It is greatly appreciated.
