Left Speaker OUT when Playing CD's...

My left front (drivers) speaker comes on and off when I play a CD in my car...Has any had this problem??? I don't think it is the speaker itself because all the speakers work when I play the radio or use the cassette player for my Ipod...anyone know what could be causing this? I am going to take it to the dealer but rather not if its a quick fix

I have the exact same problem. I haven't brought it in yet. Bring it in and let us know the result.

It's under warranty. Had mine replaced twice for the same problem. Usually happens when you hit a bump or brake hard. Check this linky.

this happened to me too. I installed an ipod adapter a few days ago...do you think there is any correlation between the ipod adapter installation and the drivers side speaker going out?

I think removal of the HU (common in adapter installs like the PA11 and the PAC-NIS2) accelerates the issue... the issue is a bad solder point on the circuit board, it's a known problem replaceable under warranty. My guess is that the physical jarring and movements of the HU during removal and reinstallation probably has a direct link to the problem more quickly and consistantly arising. My solution: replacing the HU with aftermarket. Not even worth it to me to futz with it.

Oh OK. I ran out of bumper to bumper warranty 5 days ago. Any suggestions on how I can still get it covered under the warranty?

I've also had this problem....I had to constantly hit the side of the HU as DaVeeD suggested. Braking hard as Alan said also caused it to chip out...and also brought it back. Isn't the cd player/HU grounded to the chasis? I changed my stock battery ground wire with 4 awg and the problem went away. I even tried to replicate the problem by braking hard and hitting the HU...speaker(s) never went out.

Am having the same problem - was told that HU had to be replaced. Even better, the HU is now giving me a "Check Disc" message for every CD.
