I messed up big time:(

someone please help me....
I got a system installed, and today i had to take my spare tire out. The sub was in the way so i unplugs those red and black wires and took the sub out first. WHen i put the sub back, i think i might have put those wires in a wroge place...i think i put the black on the red slot. Anyways, it sounded fine for a while..when i came back home..the sub kept going on and off, and then i heard some knocking! the sub went. My right front speaker went and the sound just sucks!!!...

I got those infinity speakers 62.7 and 60.7.....what the hell just happend?
bad part is this all stuff is from ebay!!!!!!!!!

I'm sooo maddd...please someone tell me whats the problem...
I tried switching to my cousin's sub..but his sub doesnt work...the speakers sound horriable and the fact front right just stoped working...I could barely hear when i put the sound on 30.

Your thoughts???

I think you may have a couple of different issues.

First things first- Check your fuses.
Second things second- Check your balance control.

When you unplugged the sub, did you turn the amp off? Could you have possibly shorted the + and - wires together, or shorted them to ground?

The issue with the right front speaker sounds more like a connection issue.
1. Take a test speaker (one you know works properly... I have an old OEM driver that I use) and hook it up directly to the FR output of the front stage amp. If it works, the issue is downstream from there. If it doesn't work, your amp may be the problem.
2. Assuming the amp is functional... Uninstall the FR driver. Hook it up directly to the amp. Does it work? If so, the problem is in your wiring (could the connections behind the speaker be shorting?). If it does not work the speaker is toast.

Who did the install? You or a shop?

I still see my both amps are on. cuz i see the light on

the shop did the install. U could say i didnt get a good sleep tonight.
went to sleep around 3 am and now its 6 am....its a 40 min drive so i better leave in 1 hour.

Also, when i was putting that sub back in. I noticed a spark came out from the sub wiring....and when i tried putting the wire in that slot, my fingers got a shock aswell.

thnx

I just came back from the shop
He said the rca cables were unpluged! i have no idea how they could have happened, they first changed the fuse but that was alright. Other thing was my sub is blown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
I thought the p3s were nice...I played at a normal volume for few hours for the break in period.

Which sub should i get now? i want a 12', something that gives the same or better power as the P3 punch.

it sucks to have a sub blown right 2 days after the installation

What type of power are you delivering to the sub? What size enclosure? Sealed or ported?

It was a sealed box. I had the p8002 amp powering the sub. 800RMS
the size of the box is 31.3(W) x 36.0(H) x 41.0(D) cm
I think its bit too small for a P312d4. I heard a different kind of knocking before the sub blew, it was like something was hitting inside the box.

I spoke with the shop people. Their telling me i should be good with one "SOUNDSTREAM TARANTULAT4-12. 900WATTS RMS POWER! "
I never heard of Sounddtream but i guess if i buy from these guys i have warrenty. Like that sub i blew, it was from ebay with no warrenty

I wouldn't do Soundstream. There are plenty better choices for the money. Soundstream used to be good back in the day, but they were bought out, and things went downhill. I am a little confused. When did you get a shock and how? There might be something more here than the power you are putting to that sub. I am also wondering if they set the gains properly...

I already asked the shop to order me that sound stream sub.....i was looking at the reviews and mostly everyone gave out good reviews. Plus i learnd a lession from ebay....no warrenty....lol..so this way i know i will get warrenty.

Their going to retune those speakers for me, here's a quote
"I THINK THE BEST THING IS FOR US TO TUNE YOUR SYSTEM WHILE YOUR SITTING IN THE CAR SO WE COULD TUNE IT TO YOUR LIKING. I USUALLY SET CROSSOVER POINTS REALLY HIGH. I DO THIS BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE LIKE CRANKING THERE STEREOS REALLY LOUD & BY SETTING THE X-OVER HIGH THE INTERIOR SPEAKERS PLAY LOUDER(THEY DONT RECIEVE THE LOW FREQUENCY. THE DOWN SIDE TO THAT IS LOSING SOME MID FREQUENCY.WE CAN BOOK IN THE CAR ONCE WE HAVE THE SUB & RE-TUNE IT WITH YOU IN THE VEHICLE."

I'll be going today after school to get this fixed...

I got the shock when i was putting in those sub wires inside the box connector. The installation person said its normal and i shouldnt worry about it, but the fact was i got shocked......not sure if i should let that go or not.

Well, If you had a signal going to the sub amp, and shorted the wires while you were in there messing around with the connections I would fully expect you to get a zap.

****KKKKKKKKKK
WORSE FUKIN DAY
I find out my ****in p8002 amp is fuking dead!!!!!!!!!
the reason? Somehow the wire which was coming from the amp to my sub got touched when i removed the spare tire which ****ed up my p8002 amp and then the sub...
Now i have one amp running 2 speakers and one sub...
THIS REALly ****ing sux...never buying **** from ebay again without warrenty
on the other side..this soundstream sub is really powerfull...holy the gain was all the way down and still it was popping loud

i'm just pissed off..sorry for the bad lag...
I given the amp to my co worker and gonna see if he could get it fixed....

Was your amp off when you removed your spare tire? The wire that goes from the amp to your sub shouldn't have sparked or done anything even if you touched them together.

Dude, you should've disconnected the battery or have a kill switch before messing with the install (to get to the spare). Not only can you kill your equipment (which you did) you can give yourself one hell of a shock (not enough to kill yourself, with 12v anyway, but still!).

Have your installers put in a kill switch so you can disengage the live voltage going into the trunk. ALso if you have a capacitor - remember it takes awhile to discharge even after the disconnect.

I wouldn't blame the equipment or eBay. You short out any piece of equipment like you did and you're most likely going to fry it (depending on fuse ratings and protection circuitry).

12v could kill you, given enough current.

A kill switch is nice, but if your system was installed correctly, the least you could have done was pull the fuse for the +12v line going to your trunk.

Wrong on the first part, right on the second. Current does kill. But a car battery doesn't.

The resistance of your skin, body, etc is high enough that 12 volts should not cause much current to flow. Remember current = volts/ohms.

Cardiac pacemakers aside, I seriously doubt a car battery could kill you (unless it exploded).
