How can i move the nav dvd-rom to the trunk?

ok...searched but haven't found too much info on this subject. I've had my dvd hooked up with the avelectronics unit for a couple years now. I was in during the original group buys. My dvd player is mounted under the lower glove box with a custom made bracket but i'm getting sick of it being there. I've got the innovatek fd-5 and the stupid blue light pisses me off when i'm driving at night.

Anybody with any real success in moving the nav dvd-rom to some other location and mounting their dvd player in that space? If so anybody in Socal have a shop thats done it? Thanks all for any input!

This would not be easy. I have never heard of anyone doing it. Most people will tend to do a double-din conversion before trying to do something like that.

Anyway technically you could cut-up the exisiting harness going to the nav unit and then splice in longer wiring and run it to the trunk. Not impossible just a big PIA...

you may have better luck just painting over the LED...

beowulf... yeah, from what i've read there's a bunch of wires that would need to be extended. i was hoping someone had come up with an aftermarket harness and extension kit of some sort, i thought i saw a thread about that some time ago.... i've got the dd conversion setup as a 2nd option..

I wouldn't be surprised if you ran into problems extending those wires that distance as well. I'm no EE, but I do know that some wires aren't meant to be extended over long distances.
