Re: Speaker Brands...

I haVE XR650CSI in front (components)
TR525CXI in rear (mainly for fill)
Jl 10w3v2 sub in a sealed box in trunk

The TR650 are pretty good, but you would probably be happier with a set of components for the front

By the way, I have a sedan so the models I quoted are a direct fit in the front doors and the rear doors

Re: Speaker Brands...

How much did that run you mstil? I saw the XR650's for $230 on ebay, and I saw the TR525CXI's for $85. What did you use for your coaxials? How do you like your setup? Thanks.

Re: Speaker Brands...

If you can get them for that price ...go for it. I used the coax 525cxi's in the rear doors for fill. Reallly like the sound when paired with the jl amp the 500/5 gives you 100w per channel front; 25 watts per channel rear and 250watts for the sub.

Re: Speaker Brands...

I installed all MQ Quart components in my doors, replacing all Bose equipment. Replaced the Bose amp with an Eclipse for the mids, and dropped 2 12"s in the trunk running off an RF Power 800a2. Sounds excellent.

Re: Speaker Brands...

I'll bet that sounds good....I just can't give up what trunk space I have...my old car was a passat and I had a box in there and I still had more trunk space than my empty G

Re: Speaker Brands...

I was thinking about Focal but I've heard that their service and backup isn't great. Has anyone used Morel by any chance? I was also looking into their stuff

Re: Speaker Brands...

Morel is pretty reptuable as a home audio driver, never heard of anyone putting a morel in a car though. My friend uses his own crossover with lpg 26nfa tweets and 7inch scanspeak revelators, only problem is that the you need a big amp since they're rated at 8ohms. On ebay someone is selling a componet Seas lotus set which is supposely a very nice set of speakers, and the price is fair for around $450 i think. I used to run MB quart's before but the tweeter is too damm bright.
