Ok so let's say he did pay $10,000. That is the dumbest thing anyone could ever do. The car is $40,000 and he drops a fourth of that into it for just a stereo. And by the way.....after counting up everything, sounds like they charged him at least twice as much as what it's worth. The setup isn't even that special. I have 2 friends with the same type of setup and I'm kind of sick of seeing it replayed everywhere.

I agree to a point. I would personally never spend that much on a stereo because #1 I don't have that kinda money to throw around, and #2 I don't plan on competing in competitions.

But why you hating anyways? It's one of the cleanest installs I've personally seen, and everyone that has seen it loves it. Sure it's not the most elaborate, but its nice. So again I ask you...why are you hating on it so much?

theeggman's car is probably the most tricked out G35 in the US... I haven't seen any other car with as many mods as his... I give him props if he has the money to spend on it... of course it's not practical, and who cares how much he spent? It's his money, let him do what he wants... now if he spent YOUR money then you have a right to complain... personally I don't have the cash to throw around like that but give the guy some props...

and if you're sick of seeing stuff like that replayed everywhere, then don't go to any car shows or look on this board because you'll definitely see it...

The matching red cover on his subs to exterior color is definately what makes the whole system.

MNDZA, to each his own, just because you cannot afford it does not mean its stupid. I don't know where you live or in what circles you hang out it, but there are plenty of people in Miami and other parts of the country with cash to burn. You going to tell someone walking around with a $60k Rolex Presidential on his arm that he is dumb too??? Must not be that dumb if they can afford to spend big bucks on whatever they like.

This may be a little late in the thread for this comment, but I can assure you that there is no replacement for a great sounding car system. There is no way to reproduce the same kind of bass in your home as you can in a car for the same money. I love my sound system in my G and I will continue to upgrade it until I am completely satisfied.

I'm not hating.....I am saying that his system is not all that special and that he overpaid for it. My family is full of top end cars. My brother-in-law just sold his 360 Modena Spyder. My sister drives a G55 AMG, my brother a new Range Rover, my uncle has a an H2, my mother-in-law has a new S600 and her husband has a SL600.....to name a few so don't tell me that I can't afford a stereo. You all say how cool the stereo is but it is not all that special compared to what I have had and is DEFINITELY overpriced. I'm not hating, I'm just pointing out something.......so relax.

I'm not rubbing in anything Mr. Jealous. Someone said I am jealous of his stereo because I can't afford it. I am simply saying I can afford it without a problem. I would never pay ten grand for that system because it is only worth half of that, maybe less. And don't talk $hit about me being full of old money......I like old money, but I don't take free money, I work like most people here probably do. So don't open your mouth to talk about me unless you really know who I am.

i think a true audiophile might have gone a different route. it's a nice install, but not my taste... i prefer stealth.

I myself spend close to 10k already for my sound system. Trying to achieve the home theater system which now is complete. I just need to have a double din like tig488 to be complete. For those that are interested, below are the list of the equipment i have for my car.

alpine dva 7996
alpine cd changer
alpine pxa-h700
alpine tme-760 lcd display monitor
alpine center speaker and amp
focal utopia 165w front and 136w rear
jl 10w6v2 sub in custom fiberglass enclosure
Phoenix Gold Ti 800.1 in custome fiberglass enclosure (driving the sub)
Arc Audio 4150 XXK driving the focal components
Plus cable, blah blah..so forth..

Since the arrival of the digital processor, it amazing how well you can adjust the frequency. To spend 10k on sound system, it is believable because i spend close to that amount. Of course, that include installation too.
