HEy weslutes, I was talking to an installer who was trying to change my current setup of 2 x 10' JBL Power Series subs to the Image Dynamics 2 x 12". He says that they are the best subs he has ever heard for the price. The baskets on the subs look incredibly weak so I don't know if I can believe him or not.

How do you like the sound from your one 12"? I mean does it really hit hard? I like the kind of bass that distorts your voice if you try and talk while its pumpin'.

It does hit really hard but not like a competition sytem.Two twelvers might do it though.I might add another twelver on the other side eventually.

Sammyjl- Which image dynamic 12's was he telling you to get? The IDQ and IDMAX subs are excellent.

 

He said that it didn't matter, but if I wanted a sturdier looking basket then go with the IDMAX. I'm just worried that he might be trying to sell me cheap subs. If you compare the JL 12W7 to the IDQ they are like night and day in appearance but he says that the IDQ will blow them away and that they require a smaller enclosure so I will be able to save space as well.

Sounds too good to be true.

the IDMAX are comparable to jl's w7 subs. They are very very good subs and if you can audition it, then i suggest you do because i think you will be impressed.

However, i feel that the w7 subs are the best on the market, but there are several other subs that come very very close to it in performance for a fraction of the cost. The IDMAX is one of those subs.
