Where did you guys mount your microphone?
I mounted it directly above my rear view mirror, but sometimes people have a hard time hearing me, and I have to turn my hear to the middle.
Just wondering where you guys mounted yours, and how it's been working.
(sorry about the cell phone pic, haven't taken any good pics yet)

I removed the OEM Bluetooth mic and replaced it with my Panasonic in the same location. I'm using it with my Panasonic head unit and Bluetooth module. It works about as well as the OEM one.

I've had my mic mounted two different places - at the top of the A pillar to my left, and basically mounted just to the right of the driver's visor on the overhead 'console' to my right.
It worth noting that both mics (and bluetooth kits) were different. I had a Motorola IHF1000 with a mic like the one in your pic, mounted to the A pillar. People often complained they couldn't hear me.
Current setup is a Parrot CK3000 Evolution using one of SDGuy's harnesses into the HU. It has a mic which pivots on its base. I actually wedged the base in between the headliner and the front of the trim piece around the map lights. This location has worked out well - mic pivots, doesn't interfere with the visor, and the mic/wire cannot be seen looking into the car because the tint at the top of the windshield hides it.
My wife called the other day while I was flying down the freeway with the sunroof open. It was noisy, but she could hear me. I would never have tried to attempt that with my old setup.

the mic on the IFH1000 is supposed to be 16 inches away, or as close as you can get it to that. it is probably too far away depending how far back you have your seat. moving it to the map light area should help significantly.
