Navigation Satellite Icon?

On my Nav display, next to the mini compass on the upper left of the screen I have a mini icon of what looks like a picture of a satellite and a lightning bolt underneath it...does anybody know what that display tells us?

What does it mean when the satellite icon is all lit up green, what does it mean when it is off, what does it mean when the lightnining bold it on or off?

Thanks in advanve,

Glenn

Doesn't your navi come with a huge bible of a book?

Re: Navigation Satellite Icon?

sg1717, The Sat icon lights up green when the navi has aquired signals from at least 3 satellites.
This allows proper function of the unit. If the icon is not green then something is blocking the signals.

Re: Navigation Satellite Icon?

Thanks...here are the other meanings in case someone else was wondering...

The color of the GPS Indicator on the upper
left corner of the screen indicates positioning
as follows:
O Green: When positioning is possible and
accurate
O Yellow: When positioning is possible but
not accurate
O Gray: When positioning is not possible

Gsedanman has it right.

Re: Navigation Satellite Icon?

If you have a Nav system, you should have the regular owner's manual, and a separate Nav system owner's manual that's nearly as thick, along with a Nav quick reference card. If you're missing any of them, go tell your dealership.
