Radar Detector For The Coupe

Hello all, I just purchased my 06' coupe, which should be arriving between July 6-8. One of the first things I'm planning on getting is a radar detector, since they are not illegal in California. I was wondering what radar detector gives the best value for its price? From what I've read and heard Valentine one provides the best and most accurate radar detector on the market, but I want your guys' opinion too. If you guys could share your experiences with what radar detectors have worked best for you and whether they have served your G well, it would be appreciated. thanks!

Not driving like an idiot typically yields the best results.

Test and after reveals the Valentine one to be the superior radar detector on the market today. We just had a discussion on it the other day on my nor-cal ls1 forum and the words for the V1 were overwhelming...

I am actually selling my v1 because I have an extra one now. If you go to the classified on there you can see my post.

I'd rather save the extra dough for mods but either way be careful if your looking at this an an option for spirited driving.

I'm not a idiotic driver, in fact I've been fortunate enough to never have been pulled over. But I have had soem very close experiences where I've been caught way offguard. So this is more an insurance device to maintain my streak. Is there anything that is as good as the Valentine One or has the same "bang for the buck" factor or is the Valentine One in a league of its own.

Very much a league of its own. The only that that comes close does not have the directional support the V1 has. If you go on v1's website then you can see how they talk about the competition.

radar is an investment. mod is good for next couple of years and then something new is going to come out, but this!!!!!!!!!! This will work for you for about 10 years or more, So $500 is not that much when you strech it out through out 10 years + all the money and time and pain you going to save for you'r self is PRICELESSSSSSSSSSSS

to sum up

Valentine 1 Radar detector------------$500
15 galons of fuel waisted in no time --------$50
Flying down a the road 100 miles over posted speed limit and being in the stage of total confidance that u not going to get cought doing that------------------PRICELESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Anyone still running the same radar/laser detector that they were using 10 years ago?

Forget the justification. If price isn't much of a factor, then get the best. But as for trying to compare a radar detector to mods and deciding which offers the most value... ...forget it. Two seperate things. Is that detector going to offer what that exhaust will, or vice versa? Exactly. Just decide what it is you truly want and how much you're prepared to spend for it. It'll be good practice for all of those mod choices you'll be faced with soon.
