if you're that impatient, you deserve the ticket. if my x50 goes off, i slow until im completely in the clear. 10 more seconds of driving slow isnt going to kill anyone.

I have a Passport Solo II and a Valentine V1. Both work well. I like the V1 because the arrows tell where the radar/laser source is. The Solo II falses less than the V1 and it falses less than a friend's 8500 x50. My problem with the Solo II is that it has broken twice in 2.5 years. The curcuit board that holds the LCD screen and power button separates from the main motherboard causing the unit not to function. It is going back to be repaired again. I like the Solo II.....if it had arrows, it would be perfect. Since it doesn't have arrows and is not durable, the V1 is the way to go.

V1 is a great unit, but I still think that you can get the same if not better performance out of the Passport X50 for less money. The only thing that the V1 has over it is the arrows as well as better laser detection. imo, laser detection just means that it tells you when you are about to get a ticket! The cop doesn't just leave on the laser and wave it all over the place. He aims it at your front plate or headlight where the reflection of the laser--and ability to get back to the gun is the greatest! However, if he is careless and swings the laser from car to car, then yes, the V1 will pick that up better than the X50 and hopefully give you a chance to stop in time. I have only had one direct hit w/ a laser on my X50. These are the only two that I would consider if buying a detector. Read some of the awards that were given to the escort.

I have a K40 and it has worked awesome.

I think this a legit site, I'm not sure. It seems like they put the Bel above the V1 there. http://www.speedzones.com

Don't listen to anything on www.radartest.com, I remember a while back people saying its a sire owned by a company that sells radar detectors.
