I remember in the beginning of the summer, a company was developing a plug that would allow you to use the Satellite button for other things. Did that get released and has anyone tried it?

I've been in Europe for 6 weeks and before that I hadn't been on the board for quite some time. If it were released when they said it would be, I expect that the conversations about it would have died down by now, since they expected a late July/early August release.

NOW, that being said, they do NOT have the product out yet, but they are apparently working on it. I phoned them recently to get an update, & they said simply, the bumped the Nissan kit back & moved on some others, I think they did something for Mini's recently, to work specifically with Apple's iPod. They were supposed to originally, have something out around the July/August time frame. Obviously that is not the case now. They said they will be working on the Nissan/Infiniti Sat input kit soon. They are trying to, in some cases make more than just an adapter; my understanding from the conversation with them I had, was they will tap into the iPod's "Remote" functions via the extra contacts on the minijack connector on an iPod, which would allow some or many level of control from the steering wheel. I also asked if they might do something like we see with the "RDS" feature on the AM/FM side, where, when in Sat mode, using an iPod via their AUX input, maybe we could also see the iPods display right on the head unit. Although, they made no promises, they did say that was something they were looking into.

Maybe it's time members from the board start calling them / writing them again & let them know us Coupe owners want this thing!!! I know I want one BAD!!!!

I have an iPod, great news, I really hope they will make that kit.

 

Regardless, just an audio in would be nice. But i'm pretty close to buying the double din dash and throwing a new audio system in. I called blitzsafe and they told me December...

Well, I am not really sure, but I know the mini-jack connector on the iPod is both a "normal" mini-jack as well as having these extra contacts for a remote, I do not know for sure from Blitzsafe, but I would imagine that if you do not have an iPod. that inerface will also act as a normal "AUX" input...

But this is just a guess... I think the best way is to start contacting the company & get the feedback in.. I think if they get the idea the demand is out there, they will not let it slip in thier schedule.....
