Problem: Auto resetting EQ adjustments

Problem: Auto resetting EQ adjustments
It's been written about before, where, after you turn off your car, the radio EQ values appear the same (ie bass: +4, treble: +3) but the sound is actually flat (ie bass: 0, treble: 0). Well, after a while, I discovered that if you raise the volume past 19, the sound returns to the displayed EQ values.
Think that's the way it was meant to be? Or is it an annoying glitch. Does this still happen in the 06's and 07's?

I have an 05 and it does it. At first, when I first got the car, it didn't do it. I was thinking to myself, "I must be lucky for my radio to not do that". Then it finally happened. The weird thing was that I started noticing the symptom when my radio did something glitchy. I started up the motor, turned on the radio, and nothing would happen. I'd see some weird text on the display but that was it. I couldn't turn it off, adjust the settings or anything. Then I turned off my car, let it sit for 10 seconds, turned it back on and everything was normal, but it started to do the stupid bass/treble reset problem.
