Someone confirm USA-SPEC PA11-NIS works on '03 and not just '03.5+ w/ SAT
As the title says... Can someone confirm that the USA-SPEC PA11-NIS works on '03 and not just '03.5+ w/ SAT. I've been through all the threads and have search to death this topic but cannot get a solid confirmation that this unit works on first generation '03 G35 Sedan with the doggie door trunk and no SAT on HU. From what I gathered it plugs into the SAT harness even though it uses CD Changer controls. Do I have this harness? Will I run into problems? Just want to know the facts before I rip open the dash for nothing. Thanks in advance for your input.

Mainly for the AUX in feature for my Xbox. The iPod thing was just a bonus.
By the looks of things, I might have mine on sale too
Well, I'll wait a few more days till someone chimes in but I'm going to try anyways as I have to take the dash apart for the NAV Video mod. Just rather have a confirmation so I don't spend an hour looking for a harness that doesn't exist.
I was also planning to mount my iPod in the ashtray as I have those extra universal covers from my dock.

Yes it will work ,, i have an 03 with the doggie door and no bose system you will plug it in to the back of the deck where you have an external cd changer port that is not being used and then all you need to do is hit the cd botton twice to switch to the ipod. let me know if you need more info... I posted on another thread info..

Thanks hotsocal. That's a relief. I think it's making more sense now. I also found this on G-Owners:
FIG.1
FIG.2
So by the looks of things...
You would disconnect the largest Harness (FIG.1 - Bottom Right) from the HU, plug that into the PA11-NIS and plug the two harnesses coming from the PA11-NIS back into the HU. Then the smaller harness of the two coming from the PA11-NIS would go into (FIG.1 - Top Left). Is that correct?
Now, the only difference is I have the Bose w/ 6CD In-dash. I've also read that in some '03, that (FIG.1 - Top Left) is already occupied by an existing harness and it is okay to unplug this and leave it out. I believe you said this port is free on your install on a non-bose. Now I'm curious if this is the plug for the in-dash changer or some half-*** SAT-prewire. LOL, there should be a "Mod-Matrix" of compatible mods on each Generation G and Options.

hotsocal, thanks for the confirmation, I was looking to add a PA11-NIS to my 03 w/non sat / non bose G35 and this is the only confirmation I could find that it will work.
khsonic03, The ashtray setup looks great. What did you use as the dock / how did you connect it to the PA11-NIS? I see that you already sold yours, so I am looking to set up something that will work with my 80GB iPod video.
Thanks,
Scott
