Is it worth it?????

i am planning on doing a custom audio system in the 06c. but the question is is it worth it? here is the list of things that i am doing.

1. Double Din conversion with Alpine in dash with navigation
2. Everything JL Audio (door speakers and rears)
3. Dyno mating the the whole car including trunk
4. 2 10" W6v2 with 1 1000 watt amp with a 1 400 channel amp
5. custom box in the trunk
6. rear camera
7. capacitor and etc for powering the amp and all wiring

Got the quote at little over 7,000. the question i am wondering is, Is it worth it or is it too pricey for the things i am getting done. for 7,000 i was thinking about going twins? but i really want a sound system.

7K is just the begining for Twin...More like in 10k-20K range...With all the stuff you are doing if the work is good then that not that bad unless you can find the stuff for cheaper...Half of the money is the equipment...If you add all that up...

it all depends on how much u want a custom audio setup. u might be able to save some money depending on where u buy the equipment.

I've done my system in phases, first was adding the aai-nis2. The next phase was to add JL Audio cleansweep, amps, and custom sub box. Just completed phase 3, my dbl din install with Eclipse anv-6600 w/ sirius and ipod and steering wheel controls. Over the 3 phases, I spent just over $1000 just for install labor overall. I was quoted a min. of $400 to over $1500 for labor only at different places. Most important look for a reputable shop, they will usually work out a deal.

It will be great to get the stuff done, One suggestion after you install it make sure go back to your Insurance company and insure it specially you will be showing it off. A lot of haters out there, that will steal your stuff.

that's crazy. look around for different quotes. if you have cash in hand, they'll cut you a deal.

The price sounds just about right but 7k is alot to dish out in one shot that's why alot of guys do it in steps.

JL subs are fine, but get other speakers, there are many other component sets that are far superior to the JLs, such as the DLS's etc. I'm partial to the EDi's but actually go out and listen to some stuff before you dump that much money into a system.

+1, I've demoed JL's top and mid line speakers. Not bad for the price, but I think you can do better with other manufacturers.
