Sound deadening is good for everyone, wether you got a custom system or not.

For Road Noise:
-Sound deaden the four wheel wells. This will reduce MOST of the road noise that can be heard in the cabin.

For Custom Audio:
-Sound deaden the four wheel wells to reduce outside noise.
-Sound deaden the doors to minimize reverb and rattle from the component speakers.
-If you have a sub, sound deadening the entire trunk (lid, floor, deck, etc.) is recommended.
-If you got extra material left, test your system, listen for spot rattles/vibrations and fix as needed. Foam blocks from a hardware store, wire ties, and various fasteners can alleviate most of your rattle issues.

Possibly, I know people there that have it and it didn't melt and I know people there that had it and it did. You hit or miss. I used the edead cause it was cheap and it was butle which is the new product these companies use so it doesn't melt. Plus on some cars when it gets hot you will smell the asphalt because it has heated up so much.

The asphalt based deadeners are much heavier and are more prone to temperature changes which will change the performance dynamics of the deadener. Butyl based deadeners are lighter and has a better operating temperature range e.g. Dynamat Extreme or like products.
