Yea, you are right we won't do it because of liability.

i totally agree with that, and i wouldnt do it on a manual car, just that for a second i figured somehow they came up with a way to prevent it from starting in gear.

There is a way to prevent starting it in first gear...look up compustar, they make a special autostarter for manuals that determines if you are in gear or not when you turn off the car, called reservation mode, in order to be in reservation mode you must turn off the car with the parking brake engaged, in neutral, and with your foot off the brake, the car will stay on for 2 minutes then automatically turn off and when you want to auto-start the car you just press the button and your car should start. This may sound like a tedious task but it's very simple. I have the compustar installed in my 6MT and I cannot start it in gear only in neutral.

As bad as our ebrakes are, why would you not want to keep your manual transmission in gear when the car is parked? Thus, the autostart would be useless anyway.

Almost every fuel injected Nissan has a PNP (Park/Neutral Position) switch that sends out a (-) signal ONLY when the tranny is in either N or Park. This signal can be used to prevent the car from starting in any gear.

I only park with my car in gear if I'm on an incline that warrants it. Most of the time mine is left in N, and I don't even have a remote start on it!

I have this on my 6mt with window roll up-down, back-up battery and glass break. i learned to drive using the e-brake and putting the car in nuetral. plus i use the turbo timer feature included in the alarm so when i leave the car its always in nuetral.

mine ebrake is garbage and if I left it in neutral it would be in the middle of the road. is there any way to adjust the ebrake cable
