well, just got off the phone with an installer who says he owns a g 6mt and didnt put the autostart cause he didnt want the manual/gear problem. Told him about this, and was told it would fry the ECU.....i dont understand how its possible, is he just a doutch who doesnt know what he's talking about or would there be something else to it?

He is wrong. Look at the schematic. The P/NP switch is physically mounted in the tranny. One side is connected to ground, the other side goes to the ECU.
When you read the ground off of the signal, you are reading it THROUGH the switch, NOT from the ECU. The ECU pin is an INPUT, not an output.
