sub box (zenclosures)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Infin...spagenameZWDVW
i stumple upon this auction while lookin for a sub box. has anyone purchase this? they also have it in 10" which is what i want.
looks like a great alternative to the 4080 box and it cost much less.
looks pretty good with a decent amount of trunk space left, but im more worry about how it sound. how does this compare to the 4080 in sounding?
ed sub will go on there if i do purchase it.
thx

i just check again n found another similiar box he made. its the one with amp mount next to it but its only .80 cu ft which i think is way too small. maybe the link i posted above has a bigger cu ft where it can push the sub a tad louder. i was tryin to call them right now but it looks like there close already.will try again tomorrow and give an update.

The Zenclosure boxes are pretty good it's a basic box made of MDF. The pic on the link is designed for a JL W7. Difference between the two is the space the 4080 fits in the corner and basically gives you the entire trunk and is fiberglass. Do a search on audio setups a few people have the zenclosure box.

The .8cuft is a bit on the small side for 2 10s. I built a box similar to the Zenclosures but with the sides extended so I got maybe .9cuft. Even with lots of polyfill and 2 IDQ10, which don't require too much space, it still didn't sound right to me, even though I was playing on the stock non-bose head unit. I took one sub out, sealed up one hole and played only one sub. Man what a difference. I have really good low bass extension. I can finally hit those 40 and 30hz notes really well. Now I'm kinda curious to see how it will sound in an isobaric setup since I now have an IDQ10 not being used.

IMO forget all those boxes, loose drivers/amps. I heard an Infinity 10" basslink in a 330ci and it was sick. The thing is only about 12" x 14" x 10" deep and it was WAY more than was needed even at about 1/2 gain. I'm planning on mounting it behind the drop down rearseat armrest in my sedan. For $219 out the door, it's the way to go for me.
