Pioneer avh-p7500dvd and avic-80dvd installed!
I finally got a chance to install the head unit and nav after a month of waiting and distractions. First I had to wait for the double din (props to Tig for getting the part numbers). Then I was out in vegas last week for comdex. Finally got it installed, two days and 5 pints of blood later. I might have some pics tomorrow, it's too dark to take any tonight plus I'm tired as hell after reistalling like every interior part back into the car.

please post with as many details as possible, such as price, ease of installation, visibility, etc. this post will be extremely helpful for me in making my final decision.
I'm thinking about the exact same set-up, but instead of getting a double-din, I was thinking of doing the same thing as mstil did. He installed it in the cubby hole with some modification to the hole. This allows the screen to be in the same location as the stock nav, which I think is the optimal viewing position.
Your insight and pictures will be extremely helpful in my endeavors.
Anxiously looking forward to the pics.

Re: Pioneer avh-p7500dvd and avic-80dvd installed!
Well here's some details.
1. Price was around 1550 for the hu and 980 for the nav. Got it from 6ave.com. The price is higher for the nav now for some wierd reason. You can probably get it for lower if you look around but I wanted to make sure I had a warranty. Most places on the web or ebay are not authorized dealers.
2. Ease of installation. To put it bluntly, not all that easy. You need at least some knowledge of car audio installation and electronics. I took apart basically everything inside to run cables for nav and the "brain unit" for the head unit to the trunk. Also the area behind the radio is pretty tight for all the cables that are necessary to install the HU and nav. It was a very tight fit. I used the stock amp mainly due to budget. I used Scosche nissan harnesses and fa1-3a factory amp interface to hook into existing wiring harnesses. Also need a nissan attenna adaptor. Sound is pretty much the same as with the clarion hu, if not slightly better. It's probably just me, but I think it sounds better now. When I get some spare cash I'll upgrade the amps and components.
3. Visibility is pretty good. I actually didn't want it too high, cause I don't want to attract any unwanted attention from the cops. I installed the screen into the bottom din slot. If you put it in the top din slot it'll just be slightly lower than the stock nav screen. As it is now mine covers the ac controls. That'll give you an idea of the line of sight until i get some pics.
4. Etc. Well the reason I got the avh-p7500 and avic-80 together is that they work well with each other. I can have a movie playing while the nav is running and switch back between the screens. It'll mute the volume when it gives prompts to turn and such. It also has voice commands to reroute and even control the dvd, radio, and tv through the nav. the voice commands work pretty good, you can look up addresses by phone number too if it's in the database. In theory you don't even need to look at the screen for the nav. Only thing I didn't test is the back-up camera.
It's a lot easier with the d-din but you should have no problems doing it like mstil did. You will need to put the nav somewhere else then. I wanted to make everthing reveseable in case I want to sell my car, that why i went with the d-din

Sorry guys didn't get to take pics during the day. It's way too dark to get any good pics with the screen up. Everytime I try the pic comes out blurry. Here's the only pic that came out right. I'll make sure to get some pics first thing tomorrow morning.

Awesome!!!
This is by far the best after market DVD-NAV setup I've seen so far. Really matches the titanium interior. In fact, if I wouldn't have known otherwise, I would have thought this is a stock setup.
You could have fooled me.
Looking great, enjoy !!!!
