Re: Double Din-ANSWER!!!
Yes, the stock ACC is integrated with the IC board that runs the radio, ac, cd changer controls. The Japan v35 ACC is a seperate piece to control the AC poperly since you will be getting rid of the stock IC board. The v35 ACC is not just buttons but an acutal AC controller. $220 is actually not that bad for an AC controller. IF you don't get the ACC, your AC will run heated or cold air to match 75 degrees, I think that is the default.

Hey Joepaniolo:
VERY good job on the manual you put together for DIN conversion. I dropped my car off at the installer yesterday and went in today to check on the progress and make sure he took care of the Dual Climate Control!! He said the manual was damn good and helpful.... even though he said the whole process was a pain --- took 4 hours to get it all done but it looks good.. He also took digital pictures he's gonna e-mail me when I pick up the car tomorrow.
Quick question for everyone that's done this.. did any of you keep your audio steering wheel controls afterward? I figured to be using the remote or touch panel on my AVIC-N1 but wanted to see what route you all were going.

Re: Double Din-ANSWER!!!
First of all, thanks. The guide is currently undergoing a revision with admin over at g-owners.com. It should be up in a couple days.
To retain the steering wheel controls, you have to get the PAC SWI-X. You splice into the steering wheel wiring that is for the radio controls, run an IR sensor wire up driver pillar A into the headliner and mount the IR sensor in the maplight so it points to the deck's IR sensor. It kinda funtions as a remote control.
The deck is so close to your right hand, you really don't need a remote control nor the PAC SWI-X for steering wheel controls.

Re: Double Din-ANSWER!!!
Yeah Joe I know what you mean on the proximity to be able to touch the screen.. I just like having a remote to scroll through some of the options that I can memorize the key strokes without having to take my eyes off the road. The remote that they have right now isn't that great from what I've seen pictures of

Re: Double Din-ANSWER!!!
I emailed J-Garage, and they say that the part for the black dash (instead of titanium) is: 68260-AL710 but that I had to verify it with someone? Who could verify that part # is in fact the black and not titanium dash?

Re: Double Din-ANSWER!!!
Did anyone ever figure out if there is a part # for the titanium dash with willow interior? It looks like the titanium one that everyone is getting has the black ends by the air vents which doesn't match the brown ends that the willow interior has.
Or I guess they could be painted brown. Does anyone know the paint code for the willow interior or know where to get a good match done for plastic auto parts?
