Your system looks nice. I'm glad you like the Alpine PDX amp. Your review has given me some reassurance. I'm doing a similar system with a PDX-1.1000 driving two JL 10w6's in 4080 enclosures and a PDX-4.450 for the mids and tweets.

The 4080 box sounds awesome and will fit a W3 or W6 size sub. The stealth box has a W0 or W1 if I remember.

going into the "black area" for powering subs has been done for years in the car audio industry, nothing new and it does work. As long as the gains are set correctly so no clipping occurs, there isn't a significant risk of damage short term

yes, i am using my stock head unit. all i added was an amp and a sub
