Keeping the Blose setup but adding a new HU?
Keeping the Blose setup (including HU) but adding a new HU?
I would like to keep the Bose setup (including the the HU) in my 2003 G35, but maybe add just a new aftermarket HU.
Is this possible? Maybe have it mounted in that space above the glove compartment. I don't have a NAVI.
Has anyone done this?
Thanks for info

a few to a lot of people have done it. I have a Z1 with my bose system. Sounds way better than the bose HU. Just do a search and you'll see lots of threads about it.
I don't want to sound like I'm flaming, but why would you want to heep the stock HU and add an aftermarket HU to it? I'm just curious.
My recommendation would be to at least keep the Bose HU and replace the weak Bose amp with something that doesn't have internal EQing and has some power.

why would you go through all that effort to add a new hu and keep the old one??? do that in your civic

First I wanted to know if this was possible.
My CD player has the famous CD ERR FO message, and won't eject or play cd's.... I don't want to spend the money(which I don't have) to order new parts and isolate the A/C controls from the stupid radio to install a new one...
I though that maybe I could keep all stock stuff radio/cd/A/C etc, but install a new HU just to play CD...
Can this be done,????????/

oh...you want to KEEP you HU and add a new aftermarket HU. I see. Well it can be done, all you have to do is buy a harness (Scosche NN03, i think that's the correct part number) and connect all the wires. The hardest part is finding a place to mount the HU. Your stock HU won't work, unless you splice the wires together. I wouldn't recommend keeping your OEM HU though...
